The Relationship Between Health And Fitness

Being active makes a person healthy and strong. It is not just for people who have a weight problem but for everyone who likes to stay fit.

There is a lot a person can do such jog or walk every morning, play basketball or any other sport with friends but if a person wants to have muscles and look lean, then one can sign up and workout in a gym.

 People workout for 3 reasons;

The first is that the person is overweight and the only way to lose those extra pounds will be to reduce ones calorie intake and at the same time workout in the gym.

The second is that the person is underweight and the only way to add extra pounds is to have more calories in ones diet and workout.

The third is just for fun and to keep that person in shape.

The best exercise plan should have cardiovascular and weight training exercises. This helps burn calories and increase the muscle to fat ratio that will increase ones metabolism and gain or lose weight.

Just like taking any medicine, one should first consult the doctor before undergoing any form of exercise.

 Here are some benefits of exercising;

1.It is the easiest way to maintain and improve ones health from a variety of diseases and premature death.

2.Studies have shown that it makes a person feels happier and increases ones self esteem preventing one from falling into depression or anxiety.

3.An active lifestyle makes a person live longer than a person who doesn't.

Working out for someone who has not done it before should be done gradually. Endurance will not be built in a day and doing it repeatedly will surely be beneficial to the person.

It is advisable to workout regularly with a reasonable diet.

A person can consult with a dietitian or a health professional to really help plan a good diet program. It starts by evaluating the lifestyle and the health of the patient before any program can be made.

Afterwards, this is thoroughly discussed and recommended to the person which usually consists of an eating plan and an exercise program that does not require the use of supplements or one to purchase any expensive fitness equipment.

A good diet should have food from all the food groups.

This is made up by 2 things. The first is carbohydrates. The food that a person consumes should have vitamins, minerals and fiber. A lot of this can come from oats, rice, potatoes and cereals. The best still come from vegetables and fruits since these have phytochemicals, enzymes and micronutrients that are essential for a healthy diet.

The second is fat which can come from mono and poly saturated food sources rather than animal fats. Since fat contains more than double the number of calories in food, this should be taken in small quantities to gain or lose weight.

Another way to stay healthy is to give up some vices. Most people smoke and drink. Smoking has been proven to cause lung cancer and other diseases as well complications for women giving birth. Excessive drinking has also shown to do the same.

For people who don't smoke, it is best to stay away from people who do since studies have shown that nonsmokers are also at risk of developing cancer due to secondary smoke inhalation.

Food to Eat with Gout to Avoid Pain

Many people have learned that in order to decrease those excruciating pains that happen so suddenly, they must improve their diets. Here, it will be discussed as to the proper diet one should follow in order to accomplish this decreasing of pain, and explanations as to the causes of such negative and positive reactions to certain foods. The sooner a sufferer of such calamity learns what food to eat with gout, the sooner their calamity will subside. For starters, gout is caused by an unstable increase of uric acid in the blood stream. Crystal-like formations, then, are deposited in those minuscule areas between the joints. Uric acid is made from purine, therefore, to ingest foods with more than the daily requirement of purine will, indeed, increase the levels of uric acid in the blood stream. Once these happenings have been accomplished, sudden, sharp pain is the result. The first step to combating this negative effect is to learn which foods contain high levels of purine and which do not. This is not to say that a complete denial of purine is necessary, but the minor decrease or complete fast of purine will depend on the individual themselves. First, the sufferer must, by all means, increase the fruit and vegetable intake in their diet if they're not eating the required amount to begin with. For the record, the daily preferred amount of fruits and vegetables is, at least, five daily servings.

Fruits and vegetables have very low levels of purine in them with only potatoes, corn and peas as the exception. Again, it's not necessary to deny these three altogether, but it'll be wise to refrain from eating these more than two times within a seven day period.

Needless to say, though, are the myriads upon myriads of ways to prepare fruits and vegetables as a meal or side-dish. Most important to mention is the levels of water found in such food groups. Besides the water found in such foods, you should also increase the amount of water drank as water helps to filter uric acid via urine. The medical profession has stated that one of the best foods to eat in order to lessen the effects of gout are wild, or black cherries. These particular cherries have been associated with lowering the amount of uric acid in the system.

Black cherries can be eaten raw and made into quite the healthy beverage. As a matter of fact, it's been recommended to drink, if possible, the nectar once or twice a day. It's noted that it's more beneficial to make your own home-squeezed juice rather than the typical over-the-counter brand as the latter is known to be non-existent of the uric acid reducing agents due to poor filtering techniques.

Consult a physician, first and foremost. Of course, it's wise to listen as attentively as possible to the direction of your doctor regarding a diet or any other piece of advice given. You'll be glad to learn that a physician can give you the perfect diet concerning food to eat with gout in order to make you healthy again.

Hydro-Electrenergy

In my previous article I described how important the energy was to our preferred lifestyle. In this article I will lead you to delve down into the sources of energy. The energy that now becomes inseperable part of our lives and how we obtain it has been impacting our way of live. There are three major formations that we obtain energy: Natural gas, electricity and crude oil. Natural gas is a product of fossil deposits produced by nature which certainly takes a very long time. It is a type of carbon composition being trapped deeply underground. We use natural gas in limited ways comparing with electricity, in fact all functions that are fueled by natural gas can be replaced by electricity.

Electricity is widely used in our way of live. Anything we want to nourish our preferred lifestyle, electricity can make it all happen. Electricity is a man-made product that can be obtained by consuming the fossil deposits such as coal, shale, woods, crude oil. We burn these fossil deposits in order to generate energy in the form of electricity and deliver through the grid. That is how energy will be available wherever it is needed. Crude oil is another type of the fossil deposits. It is a carbon composition preserved underground in the form of liquid. It has to be refined so that the machinery can consume. We use crude oil for all types of machinery. It has become the important fuel for our transportation needs. Over a century ago we lived on the oil from whales as our energy. At some point of time we came to realize that if we kept killing them for oil. Sooner or later there would be no whales left for the new generations to come. At the mean time we discovered these fossil deposits to replace the oil from whales.

They were plentiful and effective but wouldn't it end up with the same problem? Eventually, there will be nothing left. We have plenty of these fossil deposits in some different forms at the present time, plentiful supply that we can use until some of us may feel not to worry about. But with increasing numbers of population due to:- -the multiplication of reproduction on every new generation. -the advanced technologies in medical science that help fighting against any influenza epidemic that frequently attacks and kills people in large numbers. -the new nutritional researches that make people live longer and healthier. -the great efforts to study on big accidents like aviation related accidents that kill people in large numbers all at once, in order to prevent them from happening again. -the great wars like WW I & II are less likely to break out any more.

The new generations start to realize more value of being born as human being. They are prone to settle down calmly over the conflicts that could lead to wars. All these factors point to the only one thing which is more population as the time goes by and everyone of us needs energy to live on. It will be a huge mistake if we continue living on our lives not to prepare for this situation. The depletion of fossil deposits may not occur in our generation or a few generations ahead. But it certainly will occur because the rate of replenishment by nature of these resources can not catch up with the rate of our energy consumption.

There are no arguments against this term. We are living on borrowed time and the clock is ticking. Eventually, we all will have to pay back and it will be painful and expensive. Not to mention about the inauspicious circumstances that are created day by day to augment the effect of global worming on our natural surroundings. It has been a very long time since humans learn how energy can enrich their lives and they have striven to obtain the energy from different sources.

The sources have been changed from time to time to be benign for environment and more reliable. Despite all the efforts, we have gone on the wrong track time after time. We live on with no plans at all when it comes to energy. It's time to make a change now folks, once and for all. Because a right choice is now at our disposal. Join me on this fight, it will be a fight to draw solid plans for our certain future and a clean planet to live. Finally, we can have solid plans for all. Go to  and participate in. Watch for my next article about free energy for eternity. I have a solid plan to reveal. We can eventually extricate ourselves completely from carbon footprint.

Key Developments in Medical Equipment in the Last 100 Years

Medical equipment technology has made incredible leaps in the last 100 years. The advent of computer technology especially led to an exponential increase in the speed with which new scientific and technological discoveries were made. Today, medical equipment continues to build on the advances of the past and into future innovations. Here are ten of the most significant breakthroughs in medical equipment in the last 100 years.

1. The Balloon Catheter

Thomas Fogarty's balloon catheter, invented in 1963, became the industry standard. Fogarty's catheter allows for continuous draining of the bladder, which is immensely important during an operation.

2. Laser Scalpels

The first laser was created in 1960. A few short years later, there were many different kinds of lasers being tested and modified. The carbon dioxide laser invented in 1964 was the one that made the laser scalpel possible. The laser scalpel revolutionized medical surgeries by enabling doctors to make fine, ultra-precise incisions.

3. First Artificial Heart

The Jarvik Heart, so named after creator Robert Jarvik, was finished in 1982 and marked a major touchstone in both science and medicine. The device was intended as a temporary replacement only, for people awaiting transplant surgery.

4. Fetal Monitor

Began in the early 1960s, the first commercially viable fetal monitor was completed in 1968 by Professor K. Hammacher who worked in conjunction with Hewlett-Packard. The monitor let doctors detect fetal distress during labor.

5. Portable Defibrillators

Portable defibrillators are almost as common as first aid kits now-a-days. They are and have been since their invention in 1960, the most effective tool for resuscitating a person from cardiac arrest. The inventor was Frank Pantridge, a scientist from Belfast.

6. The Ultrasound Machine

One of the biggest breakthroughs in ultrasound technology came in 1963, when the first portable ultrasound scanner, made by Joseph Holmes, William Wright and Ralph Meyerdirk; became commercially available.

7. The Portable EKG

The first portable electrocardiogram was completed in 1961, by Frank Sanbron, whose company eventually became part of Hewlett-Packard.

8. The AbioCor Heart

Created by AbioMed in 2001, the AbioCor heart was the biggest development in artificial heart technology since the Jarvik 7. AbioCor uses internal batteries and does not require external cables or wires. Also, the AbioCor is the first artificial heart meant as a permanent heart replacement. It was revolutionary in its use in miniaturization technology.

9. The Pacemaker

The first implantable pacemaker was invented by Wilson Greatbatch in the late 1950s. It built on the developments of electrical engineer John Hopps earlier in the decade.

10. CT Scanner

Godfrey Hounsfield, a renowned U.K. scientist, invented the first commercially viable CT scanner in 1971. The CT scanner today is the highest standard of medical imaging.

Looking for used medical equipment could be hard to come by these days, but because of the breakthroughs over the years it has become easier to look for the right one.
